During this mornings maintenance to add SSD's to nodes 04, 10, 11, & 17, one of our onsite techs informed us that the bottom servers of our rack was not getting sufficient cooling. Our tech quickly adjusted the direction of the vents above our rack to help with this, as well as asked the coresite representatives to increase the air flow from the AC units.
The servers were physically hot enough on the outside to have the tech hard power off the servers to stop any more physical damage to the hard drives.
When things were ready to be spun up, we had the Adaptec RAID bios perform a full media verification on each member.
A few drives were damaged due to the heat, but were replaced with new drives once confirmed.
I apologize about not posting information as this progressed, but manning 4 different KVM's tied us up more than it should have.
